Oak Island Citizens Academy

Would you like to learn more about how your local government operates?  The Town of Oak Island’s third Citizens Academy is being held in 2019. We will be able to accommodate the first 25 people who can dedicate their time to a great learning opportunity designed to help people understand how the Town runs its daily operations and projects. The first session will begin on February 5th when our Leadership Team gives a brief overview of their departments and daily operations.

The proposed schedule for Citizen Academy sessions is as follows:

Sessions will be held from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.

February 5 — Administration & Development Services
February 7 — Police Department and Water Rescue
February 12 — Fire Department (Station 2)
February 21 — Public Services Department
February 23 — TOUR DAY: Public Services Departments
February 26 — Parks and Recreation Department
February 28 — GRADUATION DINNER 6 p.m.
