Christmas by the Sea: Beach Preservation enters a float in the annual Christmas parade on the first Saturday in December. Here are some recent entries. Join the fun and welcome the holidays to the beach!
Oak Island Farmers Market: Each summer we look forward to seeing our fellow Oak Island Beach Lovers at Monday morning Farmers Markets at Middleton Park. Visit our booth to learn about our volunteer activities and ways to show you love the beach! Buy your t-shirts, koozies and other gear here! The market is from 8 am – 1 pm in summer, but our BPS participation schedule varies, so watch our Facebook page (Oak Island Beach Preservation Society) for this year’s dates.
Beach Day Cornhole Tournament: Beach Day is July 1 each year at Middleton Park and the beachfront. Beach Preservation has a tent on the beach at the Cabana and we host the Cornhole tournament. Some entrants clearly practice all year, and the competition is keen. The adult bracket has space for 32 teams, that is, 64 players. Children age 12 and under may play in the junior bracket. Warm up your pitching arm and get there early to register for a spot!
